Genesis®,
the world's largest panelized steel framing technology and service provider is
pleased to announce that Dofasco galvanized and Galvalume™ steel used in the
manufacturing of building products such as Genesis Light-Steel Framing (LSF)
has been recognized by the Asthma Society of Canada as being part of a healthy
indoor air environment.
"The Asthma Society of Canada
has recognized Dofasco steel building products as part of the healthy home due
to its neutral impact on indoor air quality", said Frank Viti, chief Operating
Officer of the Asthma Society of Canada. "The Asthma Society of Canada is
active in its focus on asthma education and research, which includes raising
awareness of products that are part of a healthy indoor air environment".
Dofasco is the first framing
product steel manufacturer to receive recognition from the Asthma Society of
Canada.
Genesis®
is pleased that Dofasco has received this recognition from the Asthma Society.
This will increase the awareness of the important role building materials play
in a healthy indoor environment and create awareness for the important work of
the Asthma Society of Canada. Builders that use Genesis® technology will now be
able to use this recognition in their sales and marketing materials to further
educate their consumers on the numerous benefits of using Genesis light-steel
framing solutions made from Dofasco steel.
This
acknowledgment speaks to one of many inherent qualities and attributes of steel
as a building material. Genesis light-steel framing is fire resistant and will
not contribute to the spread of fire. It is non-toxic and allergy free, and is
not vulnerable to any type of fungi or organism growth, including mould.
"Genesis is working closely
with our partners, like Dofasco, to support our position that light-steel
framing is a better choice," said Vince Mifsud, President and COO of Genesis®.
"In today’s world, indoor air quality is becoming a serious concern, and we
believe that any products that are part of a healthy indoor air environment
should be well received by consumers."
