Toronto, Canada – October 18, 2002
-KML Building Solutions (“KML”), a leading provider of structural framing solutions to the Ontario, Canada market today announces further penetration in the Care Facility market with one of the affiliate companies of the TRIDEL group of companies, Delcare. TRIDEL is Canada’s largest builder of condominiums and has expanded through Delcare into Senior facilities. All of their three projects have contracted KML, utilizing Genesis technology, to provide a complete structural framing solution. Over the past four years KML has achieved significant success in the Care market. Utilizing Genesis technology KML has provided steel framing solutions to over ten care buildings across Ontario for some of the leading general contractors and owner/operators of these facilities which include companies like TRIDEL, PCL Construction, Colson and Colson, Central Park Lodge, Daniels Corporation and others .
Greg Nevison, Vice-President at TRIDEL states “The features of the KML solution apply extremely well to the needs of the Care Market. Using Genesis technology, KML is able to optimize the use of light gage steel, concrete floor systems and structural steel to provide an
optimal overall framing solution. The Genesis
engineering and technology enables the integration of
available concrete floor solutions and their light
gage steel wall solution, resulting in the most
cost-effective, high quality answer to structural
framing delivered with speed and predictability. We
were very pleased with our initial project with KML
and as a result have decided to proceed with our two
new projects with KML.”
KML, utilizing Genesis technology, is able to integrate market available solutions along with light gage steel to provide the customer with the optimal structural framing solution. These two care facilities will integrate a Hambro concrete-composite floor system offered by a Genesis Alliance Member, Canam, along with structural steel and light gage steel. “KML is one of the few companies that have the technology, expertise and engineering capability to offer this level of sophistication.” said Mike Strickland, Vice-President of Research and Development at Canam Corporation. He continued by saying, “These TRIDEL facilities will be integrating the Hambro composite floor solution with the Genesis light gage steel wall system resulting in a great overall answer for TRIDEL.”
KML building solutions also has qualities that make it beneficial to the consumers living in these building structures. KML can provide a structural framing solution that applies extremely well to the safety needs of the Care Facility market. KML, utilizing Genesis technology, can deliver a non-combustible building making it safer for the people living in these buildings. In addition, given the inherent properties of steel, steel does not emit toxins into the air making it a recommended product by the Healthy House Institute
of America. “Given the inherent benefits of our product, the value to the end user customers living in these care units, and our experience in having built over ten care buildings in Ontario, we feel that the Care Facility market is a great opportunity for KML and the Genesis technology platform. Our goal is to significantly increase our Care Market penetration over the next few years.” said Vincent Mifsud, Chief Operating Officer at KML.
