Owens Corning, becomes part of the Genesis Alliance Network

Toronto, Canada – September 6, 2002 - GenesisTP Inc. (“Genesis”), the world’s leading technology and services provider of light steel building solutions today announces that Owens Corning, a leading producer of insulating systems , has become part of the Genesis Alliance Network, aimed at delivering superior thermal and energy efficient building solutions to the commercial and residential building markets.

As part of this Alliance, Owens Corning Insulations Systems will be sold directly by Genesis and its Licensees and be an integrated part of their structural building solution. Genesis and Owens Corning have agreed to pool their sales, marketing and technical resources to drive integrated Genesis light gage steel building structures and Owens Corning Insulation Systems into the residential and commercial markets.

Integrating our insulation systems into Genesis building structures is redefining traditional building quality standards. The thermal performance and energy efficiency demonstrated through the integration of Owens Corning Insulations Systems along with Genesis building solutions exceeds that of any building code standards required in the global market.

Delivering an integrated Genesis and Owens Corning System to the customer further extends the competitive advantages of both Genesis and Owens Corning. The Genesis light gage steel panels are fabricated in a controlled manufacturing environment before being shipped to a building site for installation. Insulation products have now become part of these panels and are fastened to the frames in the same controlled manufacturing environment. The result is that each panel is precisely insulated. Inaccessible areas, such as lintels, and posts are insulated before they leave the manufacturing facility. Given the dimensional integrity and precision of each panel fabricated by Genesis combined with the pre installation of Owens Corning insulation makes this the highest thermal quality building system available.

Starting immediately, KML Building Solutions, an affiliate Genesis partner focused on the Ontario, Canada market, will deliver Owens Corning products as part of their structural building solution. This will allow KML to address the needs of buildings which require superior thermal performance, that extend beyond the quality of traditional building methods.

International markets will also benefit from this Alliance as Genesis customers obtain access to leading insulation products required for cavity wall frame construction. All Genesis global Partners and all customers of Genesis Export Solutions will obtain access to Owens Corning insulation products. This will ensure that cavity wall construction and required products to complete Genesis framed buildings are available to markets around the world.
