Load-Bearing Walls
  • Residential & Commercial Applications
  • Custom Manufactured
  • Structurally Engineered/Load Bearing
  • Galvanized Cold Formed Steel Members
  • Integrated Features (see list below)
  • Manufactured Precision & Quality
  • Factory Installed Sub-Sheathing
  • Outboard Thermal Insulation Options
  • 100% Compatibility with Standard Finishing Methods & Materials
Wall designs are available to achieve fire, sound transmission and thermal resistance ratings that will exceed any residential or commercial building code requirements. Although Genesis® walls are lightweight, their remarkable strength is in the engineering design technology. Engineered strengths of walls can vary according to structural requirements. For example, a Genesis® load-bearing wall panel will support vertical loads up to 16,000 lbs/foot (specified) and cross braced shear walls will withstand lateral loading up to 20,000 lbs (specified).

Common wall panel sizes range from 8' tall by 10' long for residential and 10' tall by 12' wide for commercial. Genesis® Wall Panel sizes are only restricted to governmental transport regulations and practical handling limits.

Steel Material Thicknesses / Gauges / Spacing

Structural Light Steel wall framing members are available in 2 1/2"(64mm), 3 5/8'(92mm), 6"(152mm), 8"(203mm) and 10"(254mm) sizes. Each of these sizes are available in sheet steel thicknesses ranging from 20ga(0.84mm) up to 14ga(1.91mm). The ability to achieve varying wall strengths by simply increasing sheet steel thicknesses or decreasing the member spacing allows us to match any architectural design requirements.

Integrated Features

  • Pre-Punched Holes for Mechanical & Electrical Services
  • Insulated Structural Lintels
  • Precise Window Door and Mechanical Rough Openings
  • Built-in Insulated Structural Posts
  • High Strength Cross Bracing
  • Factory installed Uplift Anchors
  • Top of Wall Load Distribution Systems

Connections
Factory made connections include various welding systems, self-tapping screws, and crimping systems. All welds are coated with Galvanized paint for added corrosion protection. On site construction installation requires simple screw and bolt connections only.

Sub-Sheathing Solutions

Factory installed sub sheathing examples / applications:
  • Factory Installed Rigid Polystyrene Insulation Board
-used to achieve a 25% thermal resistance rating on the exterior of steel studs (preventing thermal bridging)
-typically used for on-site face brick installation
  • Factory Installed Densglass

  • -typically used as a substrate for the application of EIFIS systems
  • Factory Installed OSB

  • -typically used as a nailer (in conjunction with Rigid Polystyrene Insulation Board) for on-site siding installation
    -also used for lateral bracing

Non-Structural Interior Framing

Interior Non-Load bearing Partitions, Drop Ceilings, Mechanical Boxing, etc... are manually framed on-site with light-gauge metal studs. This process increases the efficiencies, reduces costs and allows for last minute on-site changes to be made easily.
